The Roxy Cinema Ouyen

It’s the only semi-tropical theatre remaining in southern Australia and the story that brought it back to life in recent years is an interesting one. We chat with one of the driving forces behind it’s revival Jenny Heaslip, to find out how the the theatre started back in 1936 and how it continues to add to the local community in a big way.

  1. I’m pretty sure that I’ve heard Mum(Vaughan Stirrat) speak of her father – Jack Bildstien, running movie pictures at Ouyen. This was an extra to running Bildstien Motors. I wonder if that was at that theatre.
    Cheers
