Fantastic history
Loved the podcast. My father Dick Giles was a teacher at Werrimul in the 1930’s and boarded near the school. He came from Tiega and when at Teacher’s College in Melbourne he trained with Melbourne Football Club. He wrote and requested a school in Melbourne but the Education Dept took a dim view of his audacity and sent him as far as they could to Werrimul. Ended his VFL career hopes but began his country football and teaching career. Have a wonderful weekend.
