Frames of History is a project centered around the history of Mildura and Sunraysia. Focused on moving media such as film and video tape, content has been sourced from private collections and the archives of STV8/WIN TV.
The collaboration on an idea between Ian MacWilliams and Glenn Milne saw the project commence in 2019 after the discovery of the Frank Jenner collection of films. With the generous financial support of Ross Lake, material was collected, digitized and researched with completed clips then uploaded to social media. With over 400 posts now having been completed, this website has been created to showcase the collection, making it easy to search and view subjects as well as preserving it for the future.
Alongside the collection of historic film, podcasts on a variety of historic topics have been produced and over 70 interviews with Sunraysia locals have been recorded. People from a wide range of backgrounds have been given the opportunity of telling their story, delivering a wonderful insight into the districts history and the elements which create the community. Edited versions of these interviews will now be posted alongside the film clips of the past.
