The New Wentworth Bridge

Newsreel Footage from 1968 commences with shots of the construction of the new bridge across the Darling River at Wentworth. We then take a walk through the old paddle steamer Ruby that had been placed on the river bank for restoration that same year. We visit “Australia’s best private collection of birds” as the sign says, behind Harvey’s Hotel and then we’re there for the official opening of the new bridge just over 56 years ago on the 23rd of January 1969.
