With the opening of the Soldier Settlement blocks, by the1950’s as Dareton – Coomealla continued to grow, the demand for good quality cuttings to plant up new blocks was great. So in cooperation with the CSIRO, a Plant Nursery was developed. This great film taken by EV Whyte, shows the various stages of creating this nursery. It also captures the opening ceremony of the new pumping plant and water distribution system built to service the area.
