Something for one of Sunraysia’s special interest groups. Colorful News footage from 1986 of a Street Rod display at Timmis Speedway. A concrete strip laid down by the Street Rod guys in the middle of the circuit allowed them to run “Go Whoa” events.
Some great information has been supplied by Roger Trinne since this posted. The SDRA Club was founded by Phil Hagen and myself. The first major event was a Go – Whoa held at Timmis Speedway to raise funds for the newly formed club. This footage is a from a SDRA Club day gymkhana and go- whoa. The video clip includes Danny Wilson’s Ford Hotrod, Mark Gunther’s 454 Monaro, Marty’s supercharged Torana and Des Challis’s Bathurst Monaro.
