Sixty years ago today, Mildura’s STV8 was officially opened. To celebrate, Bruce McLean takes us back to the announcement of TV’s arrival, plus we see film footage that was prepared for the station’s opening presentation back on November 27th 1965.
A big thanks to the Gowers family for allowing access to the original control rooms, to Bruce McLean for his assistance in creating this clip and to the Benedict family for passing on the original footage.
