In 1994, Prime Minister Paul Keating visited Sunraysia to see first hand some of the proposed solutions to the salinity problem facing the Murray Darling Basin. He visited several locations in the area including a vineyard demonstrating modern efficient irrigation systems. This WIN TV news footage recently narrated by Richard Wells, gives us an informed look at the days activities. The visit was considered successful, with seed money for the “Sunrise 21” program becoming available following the visit.
