Footage of a “Project Hibal” balloon launch early in the morning in 1970 from Mildura Airport, shot by STV 8 news cameraman Kent Smith. The balloon launching and retrieval program ran for over ten years, where an experienced team supplied US authorities with unique data collected from the edge of space.
