As part of the history presentation at the Wentworth Flood Rally dinner, several locals gave their recollections of the 1956 floods. Bob Jolly, local business man and long time grower, remembers the time well.

When Bob was sixteen years old, He was bullet proof, he is a role model for sixteen year olds of today! He had to do things the hard way to develop a great business and family, what many today lack.

You're doing a great job sharing your experiences, Bob...I was 3 at the time so only remember getting bogged out near Fletcher's lake, and not much else.

Very interesting recollections of a time when people worked together and got on with what had to be done.
I vaguely recall my father heading out that way to assist a blockie get his vines pruned and rolled on before the place was inundated.
